Ospreys are the apex aerial predator in this area and because they are so successful, they draw a lot of attention to themselves which at times leads to very interesting situations with other birds like this brown pelican. Thievery is very common in the animal world but this pelican’s gaping maw of a pouch won’t be filled by the osprey’s hard earned catch. | Mark Smith Photography
