Dec 25, 2023 · My remix uses two bearings on each side of the spool. I also remixed the small clip that keeps the holder in place by adding threads. The original version of the clip would slide along the threaded rod when the spool was full/heavy. The clip should be printed at 100% fill.

It has a standard 608 bearing for frictionless movement. My first version (with 4 pins) had been in use succesfully for almost 2 years, this latest one (with 3 pins, handier) for a few months.

Feb 19, 2016 · These are replacement spool holders for the Ultimaker 2 and Ultimaker Go. The one for the UM2 is shorter than the one supplied to keep the spool better positioned with relation to the feeder. The one for the UM go is a little longer to allow the use of standard 1 kg spools.
UM2(+) filament spool side hanger with UM connector
Use any spool holder with "UM2 connector" with this. Sits in the middle of the UM2(+) side panel. Tested with PLA, easily carries 2kg XL spools. Other materials might bend more. Can be fixed with the case screw on top, but not necessary. Split in two parts to fit the build plate. Screw the two pieces together, with 2x 10mm M3 screws and 2 M3 nuts.
