Nov 26, 2020 · Fresh install, not much on the machine (only MS Office, Adobe Reader and Winzip Utilities Suite). All the drivers have been updated and still the mouse freezes for a split second, every two seconds consistently (not random at all). In addition, when the chasing dot spinner is present on the screen, it also freezes consistently every 2 seconds.

Unable to add boot option as boot menu disabled in BIOS
Jun 16, 2018 · I have windows 8.1 installed, which is corrupted. I am unable to login to system, hence want to reboot the system from usb. But while rebooting, in BIOS setup the boot menu is disabled. In boot tab both legacy and uefi options are blank. The screen is greyed out. On hitting enter or arrow keys no action is taking place.

After checking System Information, I confirmed that my computer's BIOS is in UEFI mode, so I know that the UEFI settings should be accessible from the Advanced Startup menu -- but it isn't. My options are Startup Repair, Startup Settings, Command Prompt, Uninstall Updates, System Restore, and System Image Recovery.

Fine. Installed Norton Utilities (came with NIS) on same machine. Fine. Ran NU's registry scan - it suggested I compact the registry to save space. Did so and requested restore point. Computer restarted but could not boot past blue screen of death. Windows repair could not repair the pblm. Cannot boot into safe mode -same blue screen occurs.
