May 22, 2019 · I put the universal 400 on my Stihl fs 130 or whatever model it is. Has worked great. Put them on all my redmax 3050s. Go ahead and buy a few replacement heads for them. A local Stihl dealer carries them here. So when that bump head wears through you will have more ready to go in the truck . Rather than replace the whole thing.

May 19, 2018 · Funny thing about this. I asked my dealer about the grease, and my dealer suggested I put on a zerk like all of the other brand trimmer heads they sell. They did however still have the grease for the hedge trimmer gearbox, which is different. Anyway, when it comes to greasing a gearbox, less is more. Too much grease leads to overheating.

Sep 27, 2017 · I know how to load a trimmer head, as does most everyone on this site. That isn't the issue. The Stihl heads suck to load in comparison to the T-35 and are harder to bump and much worse at feeding out line. I have a bunch of the Stihl heads here and know what I am talking about. The std T-35 heads load as easy as can it can get.

May 13, 2023 · Looking to get a speed feed head for this unit. I know the mounting bolt is LH thread. Could someone please tell me thread pitch and bolt size. The trimmer head seller tells me their's is M10 x 1.25. The trimmer is 5 hours out of town with my son, otherwise I would check myself. I want to send up a new speed feed head.

Oct 24, 2007 · I have an Stihl FS85 trimmer. I too asked the question about putting a zerk in the grease plug. A former Shindawia trimmer had the same issue, and I found a zerk that would fit. I took out the plug and used a test platform in the local NAPA store, a board with many stub bolts and many nuts, used for trying a bolt or nut for proper fit.

Jun 22, 2003 · I did. I put a Stihl Autocut 25-2 head on my Shindy T-230. Also put the same head on all my Echo trimmers. You just need to get the correct adapter from your STIHL dealer. For Echo guys: Stihl part #4090-740-6802 (this will work on srm models 2100, 2100sb, 2400 for sure. Should fit many others but haven't tried myself.) Cost about $3.oo
