Jun 14, 2015 · Press CNTRL+ALT+DEL and click the task manager tab. Highlight the running task and click end task to see if that will remove the white box. If it is loading at startup go to start-run and type in msconfig. Once that opens choose startup task. Remove the checkmark from the programs that are running at startup.
Transparent small rectangle on screen - Dell
Jan 31, 2022 · Here's the one I used: I went to the Task Manager, clicked on the Detail tab, went down the first row, found MiniSearchHost, right clicked on it, hit End Task and the translucent box went away. It might reappear but at least this takes it away! Must be a Windows Explorer 11 bug.
white rectangle on the Screen - Dell
Feb 5, 2009 · Today I opened it and there is a tall solid white rectangle in the top left corner with black smudge at the bottom of it. My curser is hidden behind it. It does display normal on the television when I hook up with hdmi cable. I am guessing that the screen is irrepairable since it looks fine on the tv and not on notebook.

May 9, 2010 · Many monitors have an on-screen display lock (the padlock icon) that seems to get stuck. Various suggestions in the links below - the one that seems to work most often is to hold the monitor's menu button down for 15-20 seconds to get the screen menu, then either try unlocking the OSD (On Screen Display) or do a factory reset on the monitor.

Jun 6, 2023 · I have a clear box that pops up in the middle of my screen that won't go away. It is in the exact center of the screen, with the same ratio as the screen itself. Anything that is inside the box gets pixilated (pictures lose definition, text isn't as clear, etc.).

Aug 10, 2006 · I have a white padlock (which keeps opening and closing) in the middle of my screen. It is on a square blue background edged in white 3.5cm by 3.5cm. I can't click on it or move it and I have run all my virus and spyware programs to try and remove it. Can anyone shed any light on what it is and how to get rid of it.
