Oct 1, 2012 · I have a 1973 Polar Kraft 1444 Commercial Fishing Jon boat. It has the live well plugs in it as well. One of the holes will go straight through the hull to the water. The other is through hull but has a flange like cover over it that is for draining when you run. You just have to look underneath the boat.

Mar 1, 2003 · Why is the drain for the livewell on a G3 1652 welded jon boat on the bottom of the hull? It has a plastic through hull fitting directly under the livewell between the keels. To me this is a pretty suspect spot since it is on a flat/6 degree vee'd hull that is going in shallow water.

That way when you go to put a fish in it, there are some water to start with and then you turn the livewell pump on to fill the rest of the livewell.
