Sep 25, 2013 · They were a little overpowered but less expensive than factory light loads. Eventually I gave in and bought a MEC reloader (like you I was an experienced metallic cartridge hand loader but never saw the need to reload shot shells. Now I can make my own low recoil shells for less than I was paying for the cheap shells.

Mar 20, 2022 · Good morning everyone. Just started loading shotgun shells and need a recipe for a velocity my shoulder could appreciate. I like the Winchester AA low velocity 2 3/4 in shells. Prefer 7 1/2 or 8 shot. My club only allows 7 1/2 shot or smaller. I was able to obtain International Clays powder but am in the hunt for Hi skor 700x. Thank you all. Paulo

Recently, just the past week, shotgun shells have started showing up at Walmart and other local places again. The problem is the price has went up at least 50%. Shells that were $7.97 a box are now $10.97 or higher.

Aug 15, 2012 · Only a few loaders that don't size the shell base (Mec 650 is one). Even the Mec 600 Jr and RCBS Mini-Grand, both "low end" non-progressive loaders, have a sizing die with a ring type sizer in the bottom of the die, to provide a little sizing.

I reloaded a whole bunch (about 2-3 cases) about 2 years ago.. They were put through my size checker back then... I"ve culled the tight ones then and dedicated them to practice ammo..

I'm getting a new press and will need to select charge bar and bushings. Remington or AA hulls, grey wad, 7/8 oz shot will be the common denominators. Mec Sizemaster on the way.
