Dec 15, 2015 · And I suspect the 45 GAP in a 45 ACP would work like it does when you shoot a .40 round in a 10mm semi-auto. I did that some years back and everything seemed to function properly. (There may be a greater difference between the .45 GAP extractor groove and the 45 ACP groove than the .40 and 10mm extractor grooves -- so extraction may be different.)

Apply pressure to both the front and rear to lap out material from both rings.

Apr 11, 2012 · When looking at the bolt head with the rifle disassembled, there should be a chamfered edge on the back of the bolt head, and it should mic out at 1.875 overall IIRC. If it is less than that, you will have to take that into account when checking your bolt gap.

Jan 31, 2009 · Actually, headspace is set by the relationship of the barrel and trunnion. They have pretty much nothing to do with the bolt gap. Bolt gap can be an indicator, but it is an independant measurement of the relationship between the locking piece, rollers, and trunnion. You measure bolt gap to ensure correct lockup, assuming headspace is correct.

Mar 19, 2010 · I'm not a GAP shooters, but there seems to be quite a variety of loads available (165gr, 185gr, 200gr and 230gr) from many of the big name ammo manufacturers like Corbon, Winchester, Federal, Remington, etc. If think you might have an issue with availability though. I seldom see GAP ammo on the shelves when I'm out shopping.

May 23, 2011 · wow, hit the nail- I held it up sideways to a bright light- as the cylinders turn, and I pull the hammer back, I get to the hard-to-cock cylinders and that gap actually does close up. Guess I'm out $30 to ship it back, huh.

Jan 31, 2013 · Someone explaining and showing goes along way over me typing it out. Another symptom could be the ejector with full mags. Your bullet should not be touching the bottom of the ejector with the mag inserted. Checking it is easy to do, remove the slide load a mag and insert then look if there is a slight gap between top of the bullet and ejector.
