Aug 28, 2017 · When we ran hoop nets in the river we caught alot of rough fish like carp and buffalo. The carp and buffalo require scoring (making thin slices thru the bones being careful not to cut thru the skin. plenty of youtube vids on it). Since they are scored, the bones will fry up in the grease and the breading gets in between all the meat flaps.

Usually run into them in the meadows though eating their greens. Late season we transition down low to find them from the migration corridors to the foothills.

Sep 30, 2011 · I've eaten every form of big game meat Alaska has to offer (less goat) and nothing compares to sheep (dall). By far the best eating meat I have ever had and would trade half a moose for half a sheep any day. If your going to make more than 1 trip to pack out the meat/cape/horns, at least here in Alaska, you must take out the meat first.

Jul 2, 2020 · Yup. Low and slow is the key to cooking them. Depending on where they are eating marinading helps with the flavor too but generally, I just do the low and slow and cook them the same process I do a roast except leaving the meat on the bones.
