Mar 10, 2008 · EDIT: Title of this thread should read 'DRIVE stun' or 'dry fire', not 'dry stun' or 'dry fire' When I went through Taser training, we were all taught that if you shoot someone with the barbs and they don't make good contact, you could push the end of the taser cartridge against their body to complete the circuit.

Aug 31, 2008 · Lastly, I refuse to give up my baton for a taser -- I can keep swinging my baton if the first strike doesn't work. Even if you're lucky and have a spare cartridge for the taser, you still have to install it and hope that it works. And in a situation where this might be the case, I don't think a dry stun is going to be too effective.

Apr 18, 2010 · If a stun gun/taser were used in the commission of a crime, and I had occasion to arrest the suspect, I'd charge the initial crime, charge the enhancement for the crime being committed with a deadly weapon, and ask the Prosecutor to review applicable case law and statute law to determine if the code you're citing fits.

He would light off the taser, holding it in the middle of his chest, and talk to people while he was doing it to demonstrate that they were not universally effective. These were the older-style tazers and stun guns...dunno if he can do that with the new ones.

Nov 28, 2006 · Wasn't shot. Taser gun was pressed up against back for the full 5 seconds. Not sure if thats called taped or clipped? Seems like most are thinking that this is just some normal scar from getting tasered. I've seen what those looked like from our instructors and the other 20 guys in our class in the weeks following.
