Goosneck/5th tow dolly... Legal? Functional? Availability?
Nov 3, 2005 · Towing a gooseneck or 5th wheel with a dolly is considered to be pulling doubles in most states. So like here in CA, you would need a class A drivers lic. to do that. And towing one on a really tall reciever mount is crazy. Notice how a gooseneck and 5th wheel trailer has the axles way to the rear.

Mar 11, 2020 · Google image “towing 5th wheel with bumper pull”. There are multiple companies that sell a converter dolly for this exact purpose. —In California— If it has 2 points of mounting contact to the truck, it becomes part of the truck and is not considered a separate trailer.

Jul 31, 2003 · We sell the Lil' Rocker as our standard entry level hitch. It's a good unit for the money. Compact and easy to use. The only downside I see is in the latching. It will hold, no question, but your kingpin is round and the latch is not, so you get some slop. It also has a low weght rating (compared to most of the other 5th wheel hitches).

Dec 29, 2015 · I am currently in the process of finding a fifth wheel camper to live in and and I was prepping my truck (02 F250 7.3 4x4 longbed) and pulled the Putnam Hitch Firehawk II gooseneck fifth wheel combo out of the garage to reinstall in my truck. Much to my dismay, the pillow blocks that serve as the interface for the fifth wheel adaptor, have broken.
