Feb 23, 2021 · Recently I bought 2kg spool which is larger so I had to make larger holder. This one can be mounted to 3030 profile, it has 6mm holes. Use 8mm rod (same as used on most printers) to hold the spool itself

A spool holder which is easy to use with both small and large spools, as long as they have decent walls. Primarily designed for my Zaribo-modded Prusa i3 MK3S, but I adapted the design for 2020 extrusions as well (for my Alfawise U20), and for a friend's request I made a tabletop version.

May 20, 2019 · This is a simpler version of thing 3155344 which eliminates the ball bearings. This works better for me because it eliminates the spool 'runaway' due to the very low friction of the bearings. Included are both STL and Fusion 360 design files. If you want to change the holder's length, change the net_length user parameter in the Fusion 360 design.
