Jun 8, 2011 · Gerstenberger and Eberwein, of Gussenstadt, (then West) Germany, made a series of cheap revolvers in .22 and .32 caliber that were imported prior to 1968. After GCA 68 was passed, they modified their revolvers with longer barrels, target sights and target grips, like yours, so as to meet the import criteria.

Jan 12, 2016 · They were made to fire .22 short. The RG frames were made of metal from reclaimed Japanese friction-motor toy carpet cars and hardened to a Rockwell 1.1156 standard. I still have my RG66 single-action lead-shaver and it is a trophy to surviving a rite-of-passage. My next revolver was a Colt .22 Peacemaker. Accurate as a rifle.
