Jul 27, 2019 · He thought it may be but advised that a simple post positioned under the stairs should be sufficent support. I've removed a small doorway that had 50mm blocks on top.It appears that plasterboard is imstalled on the underside of the stairs and there a a few gaps between the wall and the plasterboard. So I'm sure if the wall is supporting the stairs.

Apr 23, 2019 · It’s the same wall in both pictures, the crack in the first on the right is what you see more clearly in the second picture. The crack doesn’t continue further below and I think it’s quite likely the stair pressure that’s causing it. ill give it a go and try filling up the crack, if it reappears I’ll call in help. Cheers
