Feb 2, 2022 · I work with hardwoods primarily (some sheet goods), and need a 24tooth rip blade in addition to the 48 tooth that comes with the saw. Makita has a 6.5" circular saw blade in 24 but I can't find a specific "plunge" saw labeled blade (they label their 48tooth blade as "plunge saw"). Not sure if the standard circular saw blade works.

Feb 24, 2018 · I have the cordless Makita track saw and absolutely love it. The kit I bought came with 4 batteries, charger and a 55" track. With 2 sets of batteries you're likely to never drain one set before the other set is charged so run time isn't an issue. The cordless has more than enough power to make the kinds of cuts you'll make with a track saw.
Advice on guide rail for Makita track saw
Jan 4, 2023 · If you have no need for a long track you could make a guide for a circular saw or even the Makita saw for a lot less than the makita rail cost and probably get it to be just as accurate. Also the Mafell track saw dust bag work pretty well on the Makita saw. Not dragging a hose along makes it easy to make a cut without stopping. Track Saw Dust Bag

Mar 9, 2021 · Based on the position of the cam guides on the saw there will be at a minimum 1.5" of uncut splinter guard on both ends of the track at full depth of the saw. If you limit the travel to the baseplate never being off the track its 3.25" uncut at the start and 2.5 at the end.

Nov 23, 2021 · For example, the Festool and Makita tracks and saws are all interchangeable, but the guide rail on the Makita track is about .01" narrower than on the Festool, so if your saw is setup for the Makita track it will be too tight to push down the Festool track, requiring adjustment of the guide bushings.

Deciding between Festool or Makita Track Saw
Feb 7, 2021 · 1. Got the Makita track saw weight figured out - Thx Scap 2. Know that Makita has the scoring feature, Festool can do this but the Festool has a anti-chipout insert too. Thx Loren. 3. Seems like Festool has really good dust collection, and Makita is good.

Jun 30, 2020 · Because Makita only makes tracks in 110" (too long and expensive to cut) and 55" (too short) and the Kreg track will not take the Makita saw, I was faced with a dilemma. Festool to the rescue - at 75"+ long, the FS1900/2 track will work with the Makita saw. it's alos longer than the Kreg track, but I like that.

Sep 19, 2013 · For course, when you mention Festool the first thing that comes to mind are dollar signs. The TS 55 REQ is $569. The Makita is $359 or $399 with the 55" track. The Makita 118" track is $267. The Festool 106" is $295, the 118" is $325. A significant but not wild difference (about $230 or so). My main purpose is breaking down 4×8" sheets.
