Sep 19, 2024 · I didn't account for how much length the Diamond knot used and used the 550 cord for the loop on one end I might shorten it up to finish it with 2 Diamond knot to form the second loop but I will use it a few times before I decide I got a hour and a half in it total, with 57in of Cobra Weave 5ft is the length I like for these Lanyard/straps.

May 7, 2015 · On my charcoal grey Berghaus PolarLite fleece zips, I've used 550 paracord which is the same colour as the jacket black & reflective grey inter woven, with the lanyard knot aka diamond knot. I initially was using a pair of same colour Karrimor boot laces cut to size ends heat sealed to stop them fraying.

Jun 1, 2009 · that is one of the first things i learned how to do. the hardest part to learn is the begining after that it's easy. i use that for making zipper pulls and i've got two of those on my alice pack for the quick release pulls. the one i can't figure out is the cobra knot. and don't even get me started on the monkey's fist. i tried that one until i was ready to pull my hair out.

This works best in natural material such as this cotton sash cord. Paracord and other synthetic material is too slippery for the knot to stay in place.

Nov 28, 2008 · a small lanyard is good because,some bush knifes are just 15-20% out of the sheath and it facilitates a faster more secure and precise draw,now you should have a small clip on the end of the lanyard to attach to the sheath not to lose it ....just my 2 cents, oh, and if you can have some sort of small bright cordage in the lanyard it helps a lot when you drop it in the thick dead brown foliage ...

Feb 15, 2018 · I usually have a copper bead and decrative knot just for added flare. As a bonus my lanyards are the 550 fire cord so if I have to in an emergency I can undo the lanyard pull out the fire starter and use my ferro rod to start a fire. I then could retie the lanyard with a simple over hand knot so I can keep the original functionality.

So, I will be able to wrap it around my wrist. In doing this way, I will have more paracord ( because of the braid ) and the security of wrapping my wrist around. 2 in 1 lanyard!
