Fisher vs Western which is better? - Snow Plowing Forum
Nov 17, 2010 · Comparing the build of my Fisher to other plows, including the Western, the Fisher's always seem to be a much heavier built plow. Not saying its built better than others, just much heavier in most aspects- even compared to a brand new Superduty Boss that we use at work. But I like that plow better for a couple different reasons.

Nov 17, 2006 · Over the past 10 years, I've owned the following on various vehicles: 8' Western Uni-Mount, 7.5' Fisher MM1, 8' Fisher MM2, 8' Fisher SS X-Blade MM2, Blizzard 810 and now I'm back with Fisher (9' SS X-Blade) on my current truck ('06 F-350 PSD). Of all, the Fishers have been the best hands down, with the Western coming in a close 2nd.

Jan 4, 2013 · I highly doubt a fisher dealer is repackaging bulk ATF for use on electric pumps in Canada. More likely it is bulk aircraft hydraulic fluid, which is what plow fluid is. The performance of atf below 15 or so degrees F is noticeably worse, as it is much thicker.

Fisher HT Review - Snow Plowing Forum
Feb 16, 2010 · The HT uses the Minute Mount 2 system as used on just about all Fisher brand plows. I rather like the MM2 system due to its simplicity and the on lever/handle for both pins. The jackstand that I got has the shorter pin that has been a complaint of most people. I have only had a problem with it once or twice and it holds just fine.

Nov 14, 2006 · The Diamond commercial plows are much more durable than the Fisher, compare them side by side and the Diamond is built with thicker steel and has a meatier trip edge. I do like the looks of the new X-Blades but I would stick with Diamond. Just my humble opinion. I still can't get over someone buying a Fisher because of the yellow triangle lift arm.

Jan 26, 2024 · The dealer I bought both our plows from is a Fisher, Western and SnowEx dealer. They didn't do to many SnowEx plows back in 2015 when I was in the market for a new plow for my 2500. I really considered the Western Prodigy. However, I wanted to stick with the same brand I already had in case I needed to swap plows on my 2500.
