Mar 12, 2017 · The Festool cuts right up to a rubber strip under the track even if you are cutting at an angle so there is no tear-out on the top towards the saw and minimal on the outside if I am running the outer splinter guard. Of course its also locked to the track so you cant mess up and drift away from the track. I am sure what you have will work great.

You get an additional 5mm cut depth, you get compatibility with the spring loaded guide rails. it included the anti kickback feature we saw in recent ts/tsc55 saws. the depth adjustment as well as the bevel adjustment look to be updated.

One slot is for DeWALT guide rails and the other is for Festool and I would guess Makita's and other companies' guide rails should work too. If I remember correctly the kickback feature does not work with Festool track because the mechanism is built ...

You are supposed to be able to use the Festool track with the Makita saw. The Makita does not come with a track, it is sold on its own. If you already have a track or prefer another...you have options. This is what I was told at least.
