AP World History: Modern is an introductory college-level modern world history course. Students will cultivate their understanding of world history from c. 1200 CE to the present through analyzing historical sources and learning to make connections and craft historical arguments as they explore concepts like humans and the environment, cultural
learning objectives, key concepts, and exam design for the AP World History course, with the expectation that each individual district and teacher will create a complete AP World History curriculum for their students.
The AP Exam questions measure students’ knowledge of world history and their ability to think historically. Questions are based on learning objectives, key concepts, course themes, and AP history disciplinary practices and reasoning skills.
The AP history courses seek to apprentice students to the practice of history by explicitly stressing the development of historical thinking skills while learning historical content.
