The Salvation Army Spokane says its warehouse is nearly empty and is asking for donations to help address community needs during the holidays.

The Salvation Army of Greenville said one of their Red Kettles was stolen on Wednesday.The organization stated authorities have been notified and they are searching for the person in question.The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Impact Campaign raises money during Christmas to support the organization’s mission work in the community all year long.

The Salvation Army is asking residents, businesses and local foundations to dig a little deeper in donating this year because they are far from their fundraising goal, according to Captain Ted Tressler.

Salvation Army bell ringers are out in full force with Red Kettles at about 30 locations throughout the area, like one inside the lobby of the Tops on Main and Union in Williamsville. It’s a fundraising event dating back to the late 1800s.
