The 27-year-old son of Norway’s crown princess has been accused of a second rape just days after he was arrested on suspicion of the same offense.

Mette-Marit welcomed her son Marius during a relationship that preceded her 2001 marriage to Haakon, and Marius does not have a royal role within the monarchy.

Marius Borg Høiby, the 27-year-old son of the Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit, has been arrested on suspicion of rape, according to police. Marius was arrested by Norwegian police on Monday at 11:12 pm at an address near Skaugum, the royal estate where Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit reside, and remains in police custody.

The investigation remains ongoing, and initially, the royal family declined to comment, instead directing all questions to the police and Høiby's attorney. This is the third time he has been arrested in recent months.
