The Red Sox announced their complete 2025 coaching staff Friday, including promoting José Flores to first base/infield instructor.

The Red Sox have officially announced their major league coaching staff for 2025, confirming the addition of four newcomers along with an expanded role for longtime stalwart Jason Varitek. Varitek will retain his title of game planning coordinator but will transition from the club’s catching coach to become Boston’s run prevention coach.

José Flores is named Boston's first base coach, while Varitek is now the game-planning and run prevention coach.

Boston is hiring former Orioles pitching coach and director of pitching Chris Holt as its bullpen coach, a baseball source confirmed Wednesday. Holt will replace Kevin Walker, who was one of three big league coaches fired after the season. Walker spent five years on the big league coaching staff.
