The South Carolina Gamecocks have been predicted to squeak by Illinois in the Citrus Bowl. It may not be the end to the season that Gamecock fans were ultimate

The Citrus Bowl had the first pick of Southeastern Conference teams that didn’t make the College Football Playoff and chose the Gamecocks over the likes of Alabama and Ole Miss. It will be the first time the Gamecocks and Fighting Illini will meet on the football field.

It doesn't matter if Illinois football fans wanted to see the Illini take a swing at superpower Alabama this bowl season. As it turns out, it didn't even matter that Alabama was the first team out of the 12-team College Football Playoff.
