The Montreal Canadiens faithful received two pieces of good news on Monday morning. The first is that Joshua Roy has been recalled from the Laval Rocket.

The Montreal Canadiens have recalled forward Joshua Roy from the Laval Rocket, the team announced Monday. Roy, who has yet to see a game with the Canadiens this season, has scored eight goals and added eight assists for 16 points in 17 games with Laval - good for first on the team.

The Montreal Canadiens have started their week by calling up forward Joshua Roy from their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Laval Rocket, on Monday (Nov. 25). Amidst trade chatter to acquire a forward with grit and plenty of line juggling, including the top line, Montreal has, for now, opted to go a simpler option with a known entity.
Canadiens call up Joshua Roy; Patrik Laine a full participant at practice
Roy skated on a line at practice Monday with centre Jake Evans and Emil Heineman, while Laine was on a line with centre Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield with Alex Newhook rotating in. After practice, head coach Martin St. Louis said he doesn’t expect Laine will be ready to play this week.
Canadiens' Joshua Roy: Summoned from AHL
Roy was recalled from AHL Laval on Monday. Roy has eight goals and 16 points in 17 minor-league outings during the 2024-25 campaign. He will be an option to make his NHL season debut versus Utah on Tuesday.
