A large majority of Germans would support a law similar to what parliament passed on Friday in Australia, restricting access to social media to those older than 16, a survey published on Saturday showed.

Minors in Australia are already planning attempts to bypass the government's ban on using social media. Criticism is also coming from companies managing platforms like TikTok, Facebook, and Snapchat.
