Former hedge fund manager Whitney Tilson plans to run for New York City mayor, joining a crowded field of Democrats seeking to succeed the embattled Eric Adams next year.

Tilson, 58, is a longtime Demcorat donor who made headlines this summer when he was one of the loudest voices calling Joe Biden to step down after his meandering CNN debate showing.

Investor Whitney Tilson, who often pushed corporations to perform better for shareholders and employees while running a New York-based hedge fund, has entered the race to replace New York City Mayor Eric Adams.
