For some, making a last-minute dash to the grocery store on Thanksgiving has become as customary as the holiday meal itself. However, an increasing number of grocers are scaling back hours and some, like Target and Walmart, are continuing a tradition they started during the COVID-19 pandemic and shutting their doors entirely on the holiday.

While some companies, like Walmart, Target and Publix, will be closed on Thanksgiving, others, such as Food Lion and Kroger, will be open under adjusted hours. Wholesalers like Costco and Sam's Club will also be closed on the holiday.
