Since missing the cut in his first two starts of the FedEx Cup Fall, Maverick McNealy has played high-level golf. He finished T-16 at the Shriners, T-6 at the World Wide Technology and T-17 at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship. Now, he’s 18 holes away from claiming his first PGA Tour win at The RSM Classic.

Maverick McNealy steadied himself after a rugged start Saturday with a 4-under 66 and caught up with Vince Whaley in a wild third round at the RSM Classic in which a half-dozen players had at least a share of the lead.

Countless PGA Tour pros have a lot on the line in the season finale, including Joel Dahmen, who has work to do to secure his card for 2025.

The final round of the RSM Classic is setting up for another of the close finishes that have marked the tournament's history.

Vince Whaley matched the low round of the day with a 7-under-par 63 on Saturday to share the lead with Maverick McNealy at the RSM Classic in St. Simons Island, Ga.
