General Motors is recalling over 132,000 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks equipped with power-unlatching tailgates.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on Tuesday that General Motors is recalling about 132,037 trucks due to concerns about tailgates unlatching unexpectedly.

GM has recalled about 132,037 trucks over concerns that tailgates could unlatch. The recall involves certain 2024 Chevrolet Silverado HD 2500, 3500, and GMC Sierra HD 2500, 3500 vehicles equipped with power-unlatching tailgates. Dealers will replace the exterior touchpad switch assemblies for free, the NHTSA said.

The recall adds certain 2024 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500 trucks to a February recall of 323,000 pickups.

Over 132,000 Chevrolet and GMC trucks are facing a recall over concerns that the tailgate may unlatch unexpectedly.
