WASHINGTON — Police are investigating after officers shot and killed a dog they say charged at them, biting one, in Northwest D.C. According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting happened in the 6700 block of Piney Branch Rd. around 6 p.m.

A D.C. police officer shot and killed a dog Wednesday evening. The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said just after 6 p.m., officers were called to a “domestic disturbance” in the 6700 block of Piney Branch Road in Northwest.

D.C. police have identified the man who died after he was stabbed in Northwest on Sunday. According to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), on Dec. 8, just after 5:30 p.m., officers responded to an alley in the back of the 1700 block of Columbia Road for a stabbing.

An investigation is underway in Northwest, D.C. after a deadly stabbing Sunday evening. Police are asking for the public's help identifying a suspect after a man was stabbed to death in an alley behind the 1700 block of Columbia Road NW.
