Dustin Wolf made 28 saves in regulation and was perfect on two shots faced in the shootout as the Calgary Flames rallied to a 2-1 victory over the New York Islanders on Tuesday night.

Andrei Kuzmenko deked backhand and lifted a shot over the blocker of New York goalie Semyon Varlamov in the second round of the shootout before Justin Kirkland shot low glove by Varlamov in the third. Wolf stopped both shooters he faced.

The Calgary Flames need more out of their power play. Heading into Tuesday’s meeting with the New York Islanders, the Flames were near the very bottom of the NHL’s power play rankings.

The Islanders will face a well-rested Flames team, as Calgary had three days between games after they shut out the Nashville Predators 2-0 on Friday. Daniil Miromanov and Blake Coleman powered the offense for the Flames, while Dustin Wolf made 29 saves.
