Heavy rain, snow and high winds are expected to hit the UK this afternoon as Storm Bert continues to batter the UK. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for parts of the UK including the north west, north east and the midlands. The forecasters have warned of a possible chance of a power cut, flooding and travel disruption.

Two amber warnings were issued as a "multiple-hazard event" hit the UK. Red alerts were issued for parts of Ireland.
