Ramdas Athawale urged BJP high command to take the decision soon after talking with all three leaders, Devendra Fadnavis, Eknath Shinde, and Ajit Pawar.

Union minister Ramdas Athawale suggested Eknath Shinde step down as Maharashtra CM, allowing Devendra Fadnavis to take the lead. Athawale proposed Shinde become Deputy CM or a Union minister to resolve the ongoing leadership dispute.

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has backed Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to make a comeback as the Maharashtra Chief Minister. The RSS functionaries believe that it was Fadnavis' face due to which people supported the BJP.

The Mahayuti swept the polls to the 288-member assembly, with BJP bagging 132 seats, Shiv Sena getting 57 and 41 going into the kitty of the NCP.

The BJP is set to appoint Devendra Fadnavis as Maharashtra's next CM, with Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar as deputies, reports said. This follows a significant win by the Mahayuti alliance, which gained 235 of 288 assembly seats,

BJP’s top leadership on Monday approved Fadnavis’s nomination and the proposal was also endorsed by alliance partners.
