An on-duty Calera police officer was hospitalized Tuesday evening after her patrol car was involved in a crash.

A Calera police officer was rushed to UAB Hospital following a crash that happened in Chilton County. Jemison police announced via social media at 6 p.m. that officers were on the scene of a “major motor vehicle accident” on Highway 191 at the intersection of County Road 42 West.
