President-elect Donald Trump said Thursday he will not hinder access to the abortion pills mifepristone and misoprostol, attempting to dispel fears that his second administration will be detrimental to abortion rights at the federal level.

Trump political director James Blair went to work assembling a slide deck -- eventually titled "How a national abortion ban will cost Trump the election" -- that argued a 16-week ban would hurt the Republican candidate in the battleground states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin, the magazine reported.

There was a lot of hedging involved, but it's still the most forthright the president-elect has been about ensuring continued access to medication abortion.
