Parts of the Bay Area were seeing lingering showers Monday after a damaging and unpredictable storm system blew through the region over the weekend.

Just weeks after an atmospheric river slammed the North Bay and unleashed major flooding, residents in Sonoma and Napa counties can expect more rainfall this week. This time, though, it will be less extreme than the storms that dumped nearly a foot of rain in three days last month, said Rick Canepa, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service.

Another rain system appears on tap to hit the Bay Area on Friday or Saturday, according to the weather service.
