A third day of an atmospheric river storm has inundated Northern California and the Bay Area, prompting a series of warnings and advisories about local flooding.The National Weather Service issued a flood warning in Sonoma County for the Russian River at Johnsons Beach in Guerneville from 2 p.

An atmospheric river storm hit California over the weekend, dropping heavy rain on at least one part of San Luis Obispo County. The Nationa Weather Service shared a notice Saturday evening showing 24-hour rainfall totals for the storm.

The first atmospheric river storm of the winter rainy season slammed into California on Wednesday. Driven by a powerful “bomb cyclone” off British Columbia, it brought heavy rains to Sonoma and Marin counties, dumping more than 6 inches in the hills above Guerneville by mid-afternoon.

The second day of an atmospheric river brought heavy rain to Northern California and the Bay Area Thursday, with the heaviest downfalls in the North Bay ahead of the storm moving south on Friday.

A bomb cyclone followed by an atmospheric river that pummeled Northern California last week helped boost the water levels at many of the state's reservoirs.

The week begins with a Freeze Warning across the Valley on Monday night and goes on until Tuesday morning. Areas below 2,000 feet in elevation can expect overnight lows to drop below 36 degrees by Tuesday morning.
