The company behind the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child stage play remains in the red amid falling sales and show closures, it has been revealed. The joint venture which produces the show across the world has reported a turnover of £41.

Based on a story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany, “Cursed Child” follows Harry Potter’s next generation at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The play is produced by Sonia Friedman Productions, Colin Callender, and Harry Potter Theatrical Productions.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will launch two new international productions of the multi award-winning play. In 2025 Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will launch in Brazil, followed by the Netherlands in 2026.

Since its debut in London in 2016, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has mesmerised audiences worldwide. The play has sold over 11 million tickets and earned 60 major theatre awards, including nine Olivier Awards and six Tony Awards. Current productions are thriving in London, New York, Hamburg, Tokyo, and Chicago.
