Promoting the memoir in an interview with The Times, Cher said there were just two directors she didn’t enjoy working with: Peter Bogdanovich and “the guy from The Muppets”, apparently referring to Frank OZ, known for his work directing The Muppets movies who was hired to direct the 1990 film Mermaids, in which Cher starred.

Cher is not holding back about her “Mask” director Peter Bogdanovich. In a new interview with The Times UK, Cher, 78, said the late Bogdanovich was one of two directors that she “didn’t like” working with.

Cher doesn't hold back in talking about bad experiences with director Frank Oz, who she says she got fired from 1990's Mermaids, and the late Peter Bogdanovich, sharing how they fought during the production of 1985's Mask.

Cher blew away the music industry with her contralto singing voice and as one half of Sonny & Cher. However, the “Goddess of Pop” also enjoyed numerous great accomplishments in the film industry winning an Oscar for Moonstruck.

Cher did tweet in honor of Bogdanovich when he died in 2022. “I’m Proud Of The Film [‘Mask’] We Made Together,” Cher wrote, “& In The End I’m Sure He Must Have Been As Well. He made Some Very Memorable Films,& Discovered amazingly Talented artists.”

Cher did not hold back during an interview with The Times while promoting her new memoir, “Cher: The Memoir Part 1.” The icon was reflecting on her Oscar-winning movie career when she revealed: “There are only two directors I didn’t like: Peter Bogdanovich and the guy from ‘The Muppets.
