Pastors and parents across the state have expressed concerns over Texas's board of education adding Bible-infused reading and language arts lessons in schools.

Education officials in Texas are expected to vote Friday on a new public school curriculum that would incorporate stories from the Bible into elementary school teachings.

A key vote in support of the controversial materials came from a temporary board member selected by Gov. Greg Abbott.
