“We are heartbroken. Let this be clear: This is an illegal, deadly abandonment,” Safe Haven Baby Boxes Founder Monica Kelsey said in the release. “Anonymity is only allowed when an infant is safely surrendered completely unharmed.”

An 18-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the discovery of a deceased infant that was left in an Idaho Safe Haven Baby Box last month.

An 18-year-old allegedly left a newborn baby in a hospital's Safe Haven Baby Box that had already been dead "long before being placed in the baby box."

The teen was nabbed more than a month after officials found the dead baby girl wrapped in a blanket with her placenta still attached in Baby Box.

A newborn baby girl was removed from the Safe Haven Baby Box at the Grove Creek Medical Center on Oct. 13 in Blackfoot. Officials say she was dead before she was placed in the box.
