New York State troopers braved a severe winter storm to save the life of a woman desperately needing a life-saving heart transplant.

New York State Police helped bring a family to safety as a snowstorm tore through the northeast over the weekend. New York State Police say they picked up a man and woman who were stranded while traveling to Cleveland for a heart transplant on November 29.

With a dangerous snowstorm hitting New York, state troopers helped a woman needing a heart transplant to a small airplane for a flight to the Cleveland Clinic.
