Aldermen called on Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson to change the rules governing the do-not-hire list used to block several former employees from future city jobs.

More than a day after it was revealed Mayor Brandon Johnson’s former communications director was terminated amid allegations of sexual harassment, misogyny, racism and other abusive behavior, the mayor said Wednesday evening his administration does not tolerate such behavior but shed no other light on the scandal.

Four former employees of the mayor's team were fired then put on the list for reasons that two aldermen say fall well short of what the list was intended for.

The mayor said he did not know about allegations against Ronnie Reese until his office received a Freedom of Information Act request for Reese’s personnel file.
