Derek Tran added a little to his lead in the race for California’s 45th congressional district over Rep. Michelle Steel on Saturday in one of the closest House of Representatives contests in the nation.

Thursday resultsshowed Democrat Derek Tran 480 votes ahead of Republican incumbent Michelle Steel in the 45th congressional district race.

Here are updated vote counts for some of these congressional, state legislative and city races. They’re based on the latest tallies from the L.A. County registrar or California Secretary of State offices and reflect results through shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21.

At one point after the election, Steel was ahead by roughly 11,000 votes. But Tran gradually chipped away at Steel’s lead as more ballots were counted over the past two weeks.

For the third day in a row, Tran’s lead in the race expanded, this time to give him an edge of 314 votes in a race of nearly 310,000 ballots casted.
