We only did the short .8 mile walk from the visitor center to the overlooks.Some really awesome views.The visitor center was also informative.So much more to see some other time. Full review by tojo72

Please let me know if the top parking lot is still open and when? The website says weekends and holidays only and by paid shuttle only and only between 7-10 am.

When we were there this past summer, the upper parking lot was only closed on the weekends due to heavy amount of visitors. To be sure you can call the visitor center office.

You can drive up to the lookout point. There is an easily assessable overlook with stunningly views. It is a beautiful place.
