We rented a site in the RV portion of the park. It was by far one of the best sites we have been to. Site was clean, level for Rv , quiet and ver convenient. Full review by Lynnettr A

WE were in the area and I wanted to walk a little and my wife wanted to shop so we went to the visitors center and I walked the shorter of the nature trails. It was well maintained with a gravel path… Full review by GaryGeorgia
I have reservations for 17t in beechpoint and wanted to know if that site has trees to hang a hammock. Also how much kayak rentals are, if you have sit on top, and if a life jacket comes with the rental. Thanks.

Hi, Thanks for choosing to stay at Beech Point Campground at Mississippi River State Park. Site 17T has trees around the site and there are a pair of trees that could be used for a hammock. The site also has railing around both the top and bottom levels. There is a couple of stairs between the picnic portion of the site and the tent pad. Sites 16T and 15T do have hammock trees as well, but no railings or stairs. The park does rent sit on top kayaks. They are $20 from 8am-4pm. The rental comes with life jacket and paddle. For $30 you can have the rental from 4pm until 4pm the next day. We also have a tandem kayak for rent. You can make reservations for the kayaks by calling the visitor center at 870.295.4040 and selecting option #2. We hope to see you soon.
Hi, One of the reviews from June 2016 said that the swimming beach was closed, but did not say why, or for how long. Please provide details, as we would like to consider staying here in May 2017. Thank You

We were just there a few weeks ago and saw the Beaver Creek Lake swimming area. There was a sign that said it would be opened from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Thank you for your interest in Mississippi River State Park. Bear Creek Lake is one of two larger lakes found inside Mississippi River State Park. The lake is a 625 acre lake. It is great for canoeing, kayaking, and fishing. The park has three campgrounds around the lake: Beech Point Campground: A modern campground with 50 amp, water, and electric, Lone Pine Campground: A primitive campground with vault toilets, but each site still has picnic table, tent pad, ground grill, and stand grill Maple Flats Campground: A primitive campground for group camping. The lake has a 9.9 horsepower limit due to the fragile soils of the ridge. The lake has one boat ramp operated by the park near the Beech Point Campground. Thank you, Kristina Root-Carranza Park Superintendent Mississippi River State Park
Yes, yes there is and it is staffed by a great group of wonderfully informative and cheery people. The visitors' center was actually the high point of our visit.
