The Palace Theatre of Varieties opened on Whit Monday 1891 and cost its owners the then colossal sum of £40,500. In the late 1970’s the Palace Theatre underwent a major refurbishment and re-opened in 1981 with Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Jesus Christ Superstar and has since then retained its position as the premier provincial touring venue.

I was charged £ 22.40 last night for two medium wines in plastic cups. I was a little "in the moment" in a busy queue and paid without thinking. Never again, the Palace can do without my custom! Full review by chriscE7858IB
Does anyone know how to contact the Palace Theatre Manchester. We nned to know the running time of J C Superstar to plan our journey home but cannot find this info anywhere. There is a premium rate number listed 0844. if you ring that it gives you another premium rate number which gives an answerphone message. I have emailed twice well in advance (2 weeks ago) and had no reply. I would not recommend this theatre. For the prices they charge I think they could do much better.
