Great place for a walk and to enjoy the local architecture. And it is not over busy regardless Faro being quite a touristic town. I recommend going on a Ferris wheel for even more goo views. Full review by CassimaSK

We really enjoyed walking around. There were some street performers, lots of shops and restaurants. Glad we went. We parked on top of hill next to a small bar. Paid parking Full review by BRUNO G

You can go on the little train which goes from the marina but it isn't hop on hop off. I assume you mean to travel around the area not just Faro and yes you can on buses and trains easily. The bus station is along the sea front from the right side of the marina and the train station is the same way but a little further. We went to Lagos on the train and also caught a bus to Olaho. We were only in Faro for 4 nights so didn't have time to go any further so spent most time in Faro itself
