Chestnut Ridge Park is not closed on Sundays. The office may be closed but the park is wide open. Sunday is one of the busiest days in the park. The park is usually open all year long from 7am to dusk. They close the gates for the loop roads at dusk. If you are planning to use one of the many shelters you will need a reservation. There are many places to picnic if you do not need an entire shelter.
