Here at Auckland Rugby League we govern , grow and support the sport of rugby league in the Auckland Region of New Zealand encompassing club, school, and representative league. Auckland played unofficial representative Rugby League in 1908 before an organisational body was officially formed on July 19 in 1909 at the Chamber of Commerce on Swanson Street after players had met a week earlier on July 12. The first organised club match was played on July 25 between North Shore Albions and City Rover. The future for Rugby League is bright and now includes non-contact options and a growing portfolio of women involved in Rugby League.
